is a web-based study to how school psychologists perform systematic observations.
You are being asked to participate in the survey because you are a school
psychologist. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a 5
minute video of a classroom while completing a systematic observation form. The
results of this research will expand our knowledge of how school psychologists
complete systematic observations.
Proceeding with the web-based survey will imply your
consent to participate in this study. If
you decide to participate you will be asked to provide some demographic
information such as your age, race, ethnicity, current employment, education,
location, and certifications held. You will then be asked to watch a brief
training video describing the observation form and operational definitions of
On- and Off-task behaviors. Then you will be given some information about a
student you are asked to observe, and a 5 minute video will begin. You will be
completing the observation form while watching the video. The survey should
take no more than 30 minutes to complete.
of Participation: There are no known risks associated with this
project which are greater than those ordinarily encountered in daily life.
of Participation: While it is unlikely that you will derive
personal benefits from your participation, your completion of the survey will
be helpful in gaining a better understanding of how school psychologists
complete systematic observations. If
you decide to participate, you will be helping in to increase awareness and
research support in this area, and in turn assist in the field of school psychology.
